The MC-RJ45P is a media converter incorporating a large toroidal transformer and a discrete linear power supply.
■ Media Converter It features two LAN inputs/outputs: an RJ45 port and an SFP port. By installing an SFP module for optical fiber, it converts between copper LAN and optical LAN.
■ Powerful Power Supply Characterized by ultra-low noise and the quiet operation and dynamic sound delivered by its high-capacity linear power supply, it reproduces even the finest details of the soundstage with exquisite precision.
■ Net Sync Beyond its powerful power supply, another major feature of the MC-RJ45P is its support for network synchronization. LAN communication is fundamentally asynchronous, with each device operating on its own independent clock. Synchronizing this communication to a single clock significantly improves the sound quality of network audio. The MC-RJ45P features a SYNC in SMA connector on its rear panel, allowing external synchronization signal input.
■ Optical Isolation Using two MC-RJ45P units, you can convert copper LAN to optical LAN, then convert back from optical LAN to copper LAN with a second unit, enabling optical isolation. Supplying an external sync clock to both MC-RJ45P units enables them to operate in synchronization. This effect is substantial, with a clear and distinct difference between when SYNC is enabled and disabled on the MC-RJ45P.
■ GND feature As an additional feature, you can choose whether to connect the shield of the LAN cable connected to the RJ45 terminal, the SFP module chassis, and the GND of the media converter circuit individually to the chassis frame ground. You can select this based on your environment, the cables or SFP modules you use, and verify the effect.
